Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After that date, Windows 10 will no longer receive free security updates, bug fixes, or technical support from Microsoft. Enterprises can purchase Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, which provides critical security patches for a limited time.
Box is not ending support or disabling access for Windows 10 users. However, because the operating system itself will only be in limited/paid support, Box cannot fully guarantee compatibility or complete troubleshooting on Windows 10 devices, even if enrolled in ESU. Over time, security and compatibility risks will increase.
To remain supported when using Windows 10 with Box:
- Devices must be running Windows 10, version 22H2.
- Devices must also be enrolled in Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
- Versions older than 22H2, or systems not covered by ESU, are not supported.
Recommended actions:
- Upgrade your current device to Windows 11 (if compatible), or
- Move to a new PC that supports Windows 11.
