Box AI is now available directly in Box Drive via the right-click context menu. Users can ask questions and get summaries from their files, right from their desktop. Two new options let you work smarter without switching apps:
- Ask Box AI: Ask a question about a file or folder and get an AI-generated answer
- Summarize with Box AI: Generate a summary automatically without needing to type any additional prompt
To use Box AI, right-click any file or folder in Finder (macOS), File Explorer (Windows), or Box Drive Search, and select either option. Box AI Home will open in your browser with the selected content already loaded and ready to go.
Box AI on Box Drive is available to users on Enterprise Plus and Enterprise Advanced plans, and requires Box AI to already be enabled by their admin.
These are the minimum Box Drive versions required to use Box AI:
- Ask Box AI – 2.49.257
- Summarize with Box AI – 2.50
