We will be releasing a new version of Box Drive (v2.52), on Windows and Mac, that includes feature enhancements and bug fixes.
A new sharing experience is coming to Box Drive
Box Drive is getting a new sharing experience that makes it easier to share files and folders without leaving your desktop. You can now right-click any file or folder and choose the new Share option to open the sharing window directly. Email Shared Link and Manage Collaborators are also moving into this same sharing window.
Clicking Copy Shared Link will also open the new sharing window — with your link created and copied automatically, so you can adjust the settings right there if needed. The Copy Shared Link functionality will become available to all users shortly after the update rolls out.
Mark a Single File for Offline for MacOS
Marking folders for offline was previously rolled out to both Windows and macOS users. If users had the new Cloud Files architecture for Windows on their devices, they’d additionally be able to mark a single file for offline. This ability to mark a single file for offline is now also being brought to macOS.
MacOS users can now select a single file to be marked available offline, instead of being limited to entire folders. When a file is marked available offline, it will be available even without a network connection. Changes you make to this file will be uploaded when you're back online, while changes others make to the file will be automatically uploaded to ensure the file stays up-to-date.
