We will be releasing the following capabilities associated with the text input field validation feature within Box Sign to ensure that the information entered into text input fields when completing signature requests meets the predefined rules, format, and naming convention defined by senders and template creators:
- Public API support: Enables developers to leverage text input field validation when sending signature requests or using reusable templates in custom or third party apps.
- Template tag support: Allows users to configure and embed templates tags to support text input field validation within source files when creating reusable templates or preparing documents for signature in a signature request sent natively in Box, in Salesforce, or in any other third party or custom apps.
- Custom regex support: Provides senders with the ability to configure and provide a regular expression (regex) pattern as a custom validation option when leveraging the text input field. This includes the following workflows in Box Sign:
- Creating a signature request
- Revising a signature request
- Creating a reusable template
- Editing a reusable template
- Using a reusable template
Public API support for text input field validation will also include the ability to leverage template tags and custom regex, however, the ability to use custom regex for text input field validation will not be supported via template tags.
