We are pleased to announce the general availability of Bulk Mapping for Box Shuttle! This new feature allows the use of a spreadsheet to map users and directories from the source system to the correct targets on Box. With this approach, migration of content to Box is made significantly simpler, especially for large migration projects.
Directory mappings are created and managed in a spreadsheet, which is loaded as a part of the migration process. Thousands of users and directories can be correctly targeted for migration within a single spreadsheet, rather than one-at-a-time in the user interface. Box Shuttle generates a template file specific to the source of the migrated content, in which source directories are mapped to their Box locations. The bulk mapping spreadsheet can also be used indicate directories which should not be copied, so only critical content makes the journey to Box.
This feature also brings users to Box in bulk. It connects to the source system to generate a spreadsheet with the relevant users and groups. In this spreadsheet, these source system users are easily related to the appropriate user or group within Box. History and permissions for each user are mapped by Box Shuttle as it imports content from the source system.
