Overview
As an admin, you can configure whether recipients will see the signature frame with a Box Sign logo and signature request ID when applying their signature to a signature request. Additionally, admins can also configure the option to automatically apply a date and timestamp based on the sender’s time zone within the signature frame when recipients apply their signature, initials, and or stamp to a signature request.
Signature Frame
Admins can toggle the Enable signature frame setting ‘on’ in order to automatically apply the signature frame complete with the Box Sign logo and signature request ID for all signature requests sent from their EID. With this setting disabled, recipients will only see their signature without the signature frame when applying their signature to a signature request. This setting is enabled by default.
To enable or disable the signature field frame:
- Navigate to the Admin Console and select Enterprise Settings.
- Click the Box Sign tab.
- Within the Signature Settings:
- Toggle Enable signature frame ‘on’
- Displays the signature frame with the Box Sign logo and sign ID.
- Toggle the Enable signature frame ‘off’:
- Displays the signature only without the signature frame.
- Toggle Enable signature frame ‘on’
- Click Save.

Date and Timestamp
When the ‘Enable signature frame’ setting is enabled, admins can configure the ability to automatically apply the date and timestamp for recipients anytime they apply their signature to a signature request. The displayed date and time reflect the sender’s time zone the moment the signer adopts their signature. To ensure clarity, these placeholders will have minimum sizing requirements applied once this feature is enabled to ensure legibility. The date and timestamp setting applies to signature, initials, and stamp fields.
The date and timestamp will be set out in the 24 hour time format as shown below:
[Date Month Year HH:MM:SS.mmm]
To enable or disable date and timestamp:
- Navigate to the Admin Console and select Enterprise Settings.
- Click the Box Sign tab.
- Within the Signature Settings, toggle on or off Add date and timestamp on the signature field ‘on’ or ‘off’ depending on your preferences.
- Click Save.
Signature Log
Depending on the enablement of the data and timestamp on the signature field, the following details in the Signature Log will be captured:
- Signing Time: This field will reflect the date and timestamp at the time when a signer adopts a signature for the relevant signature field placeholder. This date and timestamp will be based on the timezone of the sender of the signature request.
- Document Signed: This field will reflect the date and timestamp at the time when a signer selects “Sign & Finish” to complete the signing process for the signature request for that signer. This date and timestamp will be based on the timezone of the sender of the signature request.
