We released the ability for Admins within Box to enable or restrict specific fields in Box Sign. This capability enables Admins to block senders from dragging and dropping specific fields during document preparation that they disabled within the Admin Console. This control is designed to meet stringent compliance needs, especially for 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP validation environments, and provides organizations with greater control over what is sent for signature on behalf of their enterprise, by preventing senders from introducing unintended changes to controlled signature requests.
Admins can assign which users or groups the restriction applies to. With this setting enabled, senders restricted by Admin settings can only add fields to signature requests or reusable templates that have been enabled for them. All other field types are blocked. The sender’s document preparation panel will only show the field types they are allowed to use.
Additionally, users without permission to add additional fields cannot add, duplicate, or modify unsupported fields in templates or ad‑hoc signature requests. Attempts to send a signature request containing restricted template tags or to add, duplicate, or modify such fields in locked templates will trigger an error message and block the send, though removal of those fields is permitted.
