Overview of Problem
When attempting to access Box from the iOS Files app, you may encounter the error message: “Use of the Files functionality with your account is restricted while your administrator requires a Box in-app passcode.” This issue occurs when the “Passcode Settings for Box Mobile Application” in the Box Admin Console is configured to require a passcode lock, restricting access via the iOS Files app.
Process for Resolution
An administrator can enable access from the Files app by updating the setting as described below.

Step 1: Access the Admin Console
- Log in to Box with an admin account and open the Admin Console.
- From the menu, select Enterprise Settings.

Step 2: Update the Mobile Settings
- Click the Mobile tab.
- Locate the "Passcode Settings for Box Mobile Application" section.

- Change "Require passcode lock" to "Do not enforce."
- Click Save to apply the change.
