We're excited to announce a new block type in Box Apps, the Item List Block. This block type lets users see and work with files and folder tied to a selected metadata template directly on an App page.
Now you can bring files and folders directly into the app experience so users can review and update them inside an App page. This keeps collaborators in context and eliminates the need to navigate away to a separate View page or Box folder.
With the Item List Block, you can:
- Centralize document access: Surface relevant files directly within a purpose-built app so users don't need to navigate Box folders manually.
- Review files in one place: Display all files associated with a specific project, case, or record together, reducing the need to navigate away from the App page.
- Preview files inline: Open and review files without ever leaving the app.
- Filter with precision: Quickly surface the right files using quick filters or the sidebar filter panel.
- Edit metadata in bulk: Update metadata across multiple files at once directly from the sidebar.
This helps teams move faster by making metadata updates and content review simpler, more consistent, and easier to complete in the flow of work.
