Troubleshooting Box for iOS - "Marked for Offline" Items Prompt To Update

Overview of Problem

When a user marks a file or folder for offline use on Box for iOS and the item is updated from another device or by another user, the initial user will see a prompt to “Update” next to the item. This ensures that users are not working on outdated content and is expected behavior.

Process for Resolution

  1. Open the Box for iOS app.
  2. Navigate to the file or folder marked for offline use.
  3. If the item has been updated, you will see an “Update” prompt next to it.
  4. Select “Update” to download the new version of the item.

 

Outcome

  • The new version of the file or folder will be downloaded.
  • You will now have the latest version of the item available for offline use.
