With Box Governance, organizations are able to designate managed users as custodians under legal hold. While an organization can identify custodians to define the scope of a legal hold, held content ultimately relates back to the legal hold itself. As a result, if a given custodian leaves the organization or otherwise ceases to be a managed user within an organization, that custodian’s content is still governed by the legal hold and preserved.
In addition, the audit trail for these custodians remains intact after they leave.
