In order to give admins more flexibility in maintaining content collaboration without having to reactivate accounts, Box is launching the Inactive User Content Availability feature. This feature enables admins to keep inactive user content accessible to their existing collaborators and preserve current permission levels (viewer, editor, co-owner), rather than having it blocked by default.
Inactive User Content Availability will introduce a new checkbox for admins when making a user inactive and during user deletion that, when selected, will keept the user’s content available to existing collaborators. This feature can be toggled at any time from the User Details screen while the user is inactive, and if not toggled the default behavior will remain unchanged (blocking inactive user content for collaborators). If the user is ever reactivated the setting will reset, and will need to be toggled on again should the user be made inactive in the future.
