In order to deliver a cleaner and more optimal admin experience, we are retiring a couple toggles from the Box Admin Console that are tied to functionality already superseded by newer, more capable features. These removals will not reflect any loss of capability, and are a part of our ongoing UI improvements.
The two depreciated toggles being removed are:
- Blocking Accessibility Portal Access: Box has made a consistent effort to provide a platform experience that meets the highest standards of accessibility for all users. As such, we have ensured the main Box WebApp meets WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards, rather than hosting a separate accessibility portal. That means there is no longer a need to control/block access to that portal.
- Blocking Mobile Web Access: Box has implemented a number of new, granular access controls for controlling or preventing unmanaged mobile access to Box through Box Device Trust capabilities. In addition, the mobile site has been replaced by a fully responsive main Box site, so this toggle is obsolete.
This update will have no impact on your organization’s capabilities or security and is entirely to provide a better admin experience.
