Excel in Box, drop downs with multiple response options
Help, I urgently need to share files and they are not working.
I programmed my Excel sheet to have drop-downs where one can select multiple responses. This was done with code in the Visual Basic back end. I saved it as macro enabled. I uploaded to Box to use as a shared excel file and lost that programming. The drop downs are still there but the few that had multiple responses enabled now only allow one options. Is there a different way to code or enable this in the box online version of Excel? or does this type of advanced programming just not work when using box. Thank you.

Hi AG,
I found this Microsoft support forum that seems to discuss the issue that you encounter, and it looks like this is a known issue with when using Excel online. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/macros-in-excel-online/453d719a-f601-4b22-963c-bd3e3361579e
In Excel online, you can edit and save the workbook containing macros, but you can't work with them. You won't be able to see the macro once you open the workbook in Excel online. You must open the workbook in Excel desktop application to work with macros. If you would like to edit the file using your Excel desktop application, you may install Box Tools. For more information about Box Tools, I recommend the following articles:Thanks for reaching out and please let us know how else we can help!
