We are excited to announce the expansion of CAC/PIV smart card signer authentication to macOS devices. This update will allow U.S. Federal Government personnel and contractors to securely sign documents using their Common Access Cards (CAC) and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards directly from their Mac devices. While previously limited to Windows, this new update ensures a consistent and secure e-signature experience across the most common desktop operating systems. CAC/PIV smart card authentication is available for single signers and multiple signers within a single signature request.
Please note, Box Tools for macOS v4.31 or higher must be installed on the Mac device for each user receiving signature requests requiring CAC/PIV authentication. End users can download Box Tools through the resource downloads page.
