Box crashes and leaves account in unstable state
AnsweredI already posted about this just yesterday. And its happened again, making my account unusable.
What happened yesterday:
I deleted all the files in my account, and tried to reupload. Box crashed, and deleted my files partially. My account storage said 49.8GB was used out of 50GB, even though there were no files and trash was empty. I contacted support, a script was run, and my account was reset.
Today:
Tried uploading my files again. Again Box crashed and left my files in an unstable state. Some were uploaded, some were missing. As I could not tell what was deleted and what not, I deleted all the files so I could restore from a portable hard drive. Again the same problem -> There are no files in my account, but Box says 18GB out of 50GB is used.
This problems happens only with the Box App on M3 MacBook Pro. The Box Sync App on my old Intel Mac Pro was working fine, and I imagine that if I upload files from that, the sync app will not crash. But again, I cannot do so until my account is cleaned up.
Can someone reset the account / run the script, and tell me why this crash is happening so that I do not let it happen again ? I am thinking I will upload from my Mac Pro which has the old Box Sync app installed, so that it does not crash.
Please run the script to clean up my account!

Hi Rahul,
Welcome to the Box Community!
I have run a script that will recount all of the files and how much storage is being used in your account. Sometimes Box caches previous file counts and storage amounts causing a data inconsistency. This is a known issue and is a long term project for our engineering team to tackle.
Thank you for posting!
Best,
Ann
