We have released a set of enhancements to Box’s mobile and accessibility experience which allows all Box customers to use the most updated version of the Box Web-app. These releases took place in two waves, These changes enhanced the accessible and mobile experience by consolidating a.box and m.box directly into the Box Web-app.
First Release:
-
Accessibility users will find that the tab function which normally would bring you to a.box has now been replaced with a new “Skip to main content” button (pictured below) which will skip to the page’s core content. This update allows all users to utilize the most updated version of the Box Web-app which meets WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards.
-
Mobile users will no longer be redirected to m.box upon accessing the Box Web-app, and instead will be able to utilize the entire Box Web-app.
Second Release:
-
Both m.box and a.box will begin rerouting all direct traffic to the Box Web-app.
There are no additional admin steps necessary to leverage this feature.
We reached out to all Box Admins and Co-Admins at enterprises who have used a.box, m.box, or have contractual stipulations around mobile/accessible use cases with service announcement emails before each release to ensure their users can navigate these changes comfortably. As a reminder, Admins can block mobile user access by utilizing Box Device Trust.
