How you cancel your Box account depends on the type of account plan.
Deleting an individual Account

Canceling a Business or Enterprise Account (only administrators can cancel)
Deleting an Individual (Free) Account
You can only delete an individual account (personal, free). You cannot cancel it.
- Click your account avatar in the upper right, and then select Account Settings.
- In the Account Details section, click Permanently Delete Account.
- Click Okay to confirm and complete the process.
Deletion will not happen immediately, please allow time for the system to process the request.
Note
The email address used for the free account cannot be used in any Box account until 120 days after account deletion.
Canceling a Personal Pro Account
- Click your account avatar in the upper right, and then select Account Settings.
- In the Account Details section, click Cancel Account.
- Complete the survey and click Continue.
- Click Permanently Cancel My Account to confirm and complete the process.

- The account will cancel at the end of the service term.
The account owner or administrator will receive a confirmation email once the cancellation has been processed.
Is the account administrator unable to cancel the account or didn't receive email confirmation?
Canceling a Business or Enterprise Account
Only the account administrator can cancel a Business or Enterprise account.
- Go to Admin Console > Account & Billing.
- In the Status field in the Account Information section, click Cancel Account.
Do not see this option? Submit a ticket here. - A pop-up window will ask you to confirm your action. After affirming, click Continue.
- Click Permanently Cancel My Account to complete the process.
