Box applies VAT of 10% to all purchases in accordance with Japanese guidelines.
Why is Box now charging sales tax in Japan?
As of October 2021, Box will charge customers in Japan sales tax in order to adhere to local Japanese tax guidelines. You should see no affect on your overall charge.

How can I view my invoices?
Your invoices can be viewed by visiting www.box.com/billing while logged in as the primary administrator of your account.
How to comply with JCT Qualified Invoice regulation?
To comply with JCT Qualified Invoice regulation, you must pay in Japanese yen if your billing address is in Japan.
- If you do not wish to pay with currency Japanese yen, select a non-Japan billing country.
- If you’re located in Japan using a non-Japan VPN, turn off the VPN to pay with Japanese yen.
How can I update my credit card online?
- Sign into your box.com account as the primary administrator.
- Go to app.box.com/billing.
- Scroll down to the Payment methods section.
- Click Add new payment method to change the credit card information.
