Box currently supports iOS drag-and-drop only on iPad.
Drag-and-drop on iPad enables you to quickly and easily upload content from your device or another mobile application directly to the Box app.
To speed up your work, Box also enables you to select multiple files so you can perform bulk actions with drag-and-drop.
Note: To move content into Box, you must have the necessary folder access and folder write permissions. If you do not have the necessary permissions, contact the folder's owner.
Using drag-and-drop to upload content to the Box app
If you have access and write permission, you can move files from your iPad device or a mobile app into the Box All Files directory, or move the items directly into a destination folder. Box then uploads your items automatically.
To upload content to the Box app:
- On iPad, touch and hold the item you want to upload to Box. The item can be single or multiple files.
- Drag the item onto the Box app icon and release. Box asks you to choose the destination.
- Select where you want to put the item.
- Box adds the item to the destination.
To upload content to the Box app while in multitasking mode:
- On iPad, touch and hold the item you want to upload to Box. The item can be single or multiple files.
- Drag the item onto an open Box window and over your chosen destination folder, then release.
- Box adds the item to the destination.
