When does the prompt appear?
This error dialog occurs when the user has a Box Drive database file that was created by a newer version than the one installed.
This is often caused by the app being reinstalled with an older installer (for example, the user installed 2.10 first, uninstall it and then install 2.9).
How to resolve
- Quit Box Drive
- Follow the steps for Uninstalling Box Drive (including "To remove all traces of the Box Drive application from your machine" section) to uninstall Box Drive.
- Make sure that C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Box\Box\Data no longer exists.
- Download the installer of Box Drive from the website and install it.
