When does the prompt appear?
This error dialog can occur when the user tries to launch Box Drive or uninstall it. Upon launch or uninstall, validation of the installed package is performed. If repair is found to be necessary, then the program will try to repair itself but it can't find the .msi to do the repair.
How to resolve
There are two ways to resolve this:
- Download and run the troubleshooter tool provided by Microsoft on Box Drive. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d
- Download the installer of Box Drive with the version that matches the error message, and place it in the directory as written in the error message (
C:\ProgramData\Box\Box\Installer\Box.2.27.242.msi
in the above screenshot). If you cannot find the installer for your version, you can open up a case with our support team to ask for assistance.
